WHERE DO WE MEET?

 

Our staff will greet you at Austin Oaks Church in the Community Center. Cars can be left in the church parking lot, and Ignite will provide bus transportation to the retreat site.

WHEN DO WE MEET?

 

Check-in will begin on Wednesday, August 8th (Session 1) or Saturday, August 11th (Session 2).

 

WHEN WILL IGNITE END?  

 

Campers will return to Austin by August 11th (Session 1) or Tuesday, August 14th (Session 2). 

 

HOW DO I PAY FOR CAMP?

 

You can either pay online by credit card when you register, pay by check, or pay at the door. 

 

Remember, scholarships to camp are available. If you would like more information about this, contact the financial exec, Erica Wheatley, at financial@ignitetexas.org.

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

  • Printed HLCCC Medical Release form and Ignite Risk Waiver

  • Jacket (buildings are cold, y’all)

  • Water bottle

  • Bible

  • Notebook

  • Pen/pencil

  • Backpacks or smaller backpack type gear are nice to carry stuff in on the daily

  • Camp Olympics clothes to get messy in

  • Swimsuit (modest one piece or two piece with a cover up/t-shirt for girls) 

  • Beach towel

  • Bath towel and wash cloths

  • Toiletries

  • Twin bedding – remember buildings are cold

  • Comfortable/Camp Olympics shoes (aka tennis shoes)

  • Sunscreen – we don’t want lobsters at camp

  • Sunglasses/hats

  • Shower shoes

  • Chargers

  • Clothing for 4 days (keep it casual)*

  • Elementary school themed clothes (for grade school dance)

  • Money to buy cool Ignite swag!

*Some activities involve water and mud, pack accordingly

 

WHAT IS THE MINISTRY FAIR?

 

Ignite hosts a ministry fair during retreat to give campers the opportunity to interact with local churches and organizations.  The goal is to help them get plugged into the body of Christ at The University of Texas!

 

WHAT SORT OF THINGS WILL WE DO AT CAMP?

 

During camp we will have a camp-wide session and small groups every morning and night. There will also be a night prayer and worship session, Late Night with Ignite, and a grade school dance night (dance to 90s music, play four square, etc.) If you think you might like to perform at open mic night bring whatever you need! You will also be divided into groups of about 10 to 15 campers and those groups will compete in our "Camp Olympics." Bring clothes to run around outside in for this because it will be hot (this is Texas after all) and there will probably be water balloons. We will also have free time in the afternoon, and Highland Lakes has a pool as well as a blob and banana boat on the lake. 

 

CAN I CHANGE MY REGISTRATION INFORMATION AFTER I'VE SUBMITTED IT?  

 

Yes, just send an email to development@ignitetexas.org with your updated information.

 

CAN I ATTEND BOTH IGNITE AND CAMP TEXAS?  

 

Yes! Email us at development@ignitetexas.org. 

 

DOES IGNITE CONFLICT WITH SORORITY RECRUITMENT?  

 

No, recruitment falls after the conclusion of both sessions. Many women on Ignite staff are also members of sororities. 

 

WHAT IF I HAVE ALLERGIES/DISABILITIES/MEDICAL CONCERNS?
