7 things about Ignite I look forward to - and you should, too!

1. Forced Friendships

Forced friendships are the best friendships amirite?! Speed Friending. Biggest Fan, Ships and Sailors. Through a plethora of ice-breakers, you’ll find yourself with more friends than you can count!

2. Cool New Lingo

Shakespeare wasn’t the only one who could make up hip, new, cool lingo! At Ignite, we value our words, and we love creating new fun terms for things! Wanna know what it means to “spit” at someone? Wanna know what it means to be called a “yeet”? Come to Ignite and you’ll find out!

3. Dance Lessons

At camp,

you’ll occasionally have free time to chill with your new friends that you’ve made. One of the things that you can do during free time is learn to two step! You’ll get to dance the [day] away with some of your counselors and your new camper friends, and then put your skills to work on the dance floor in the beginning of the school year when we have an Ignite reunion at Dance Across Texas!

4. Dope Merchandise

One of the requirements of living in Austin is having a cool water-bottle. At Ignite, you can get your own grey or orange Nalgene bottle, which will become a staple in your life as a college student. You’ll also get a super dope Ignite shirt (comfort colors woop woop), and you’ll be able to rep Ignite wherever you go!

5. Camp Hangouts

The coolest thing about Ignite is that the friendships don’t stop after camp! Once you get back to UT to start your first semester on campus, you’ll have a ready made group of super solid friends who will help you get through college!

6. Yummy Food

The food is above average! But hey, at least it’ll help prepare you for a year of dining at JCL, J2, and Kins!

7. The Bus Ride Home

Riding home from Ignite will be so bittersweet. You’ll be sad that you’re leaving all of your new friends. Then, you’ll suddenly remember that you will get to see them all the time for the next four (hopefully) years of your life! Then you’ll pass out from sheer exhaustion. You’ll wake up with drool on your face, happiness in your heart, new phone numbers in your contacts, and 42 notifications from your camp’s groupme.
